Maura Hackett has more than 12 years’ experience working with community-based nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S., where she focused on program management, coastal ecology, youth leadership development, and experiential education. Prior to joining NEO Philanthropy, Maura worked as a Program Officer with the Massachusetts Service Alliance, a nonprofit organization that serves as the state commission for service and volunteerism. There she managed a statewide portfolio of programs focused on capacity building, environmental conservation, and closing the educational achievement gap. She previously worked as the Teen Program Director at Science Club for Girls, a STEM-based organization committed to increasing access and knowledge about STEM careers and pathways for underrepresented girls in the Greater Boston area.
Maura received her B.A. in sociology from The College of New Jersey and M.P.H. in environmental public health from Boston University. In her spare time, she is a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain and enjoys cooking, traveling, and sailing traditionally rigged and historic vessels.
